I would say that part of me neglecting most of my hobbies (including this blog) has been because of the renovation of our new home. It took 16 months to complete, mostly because we didn't have sufficient funds and we had to take it step by step, but also partly because we both dreamed of some specific things, and we had to compromise when we couldn't afford them in the end. Now that it's finally done, I felt like writing a whole series on the subject, because this blog has always served as my personal diary- it hasn't been all about fashion, like it started, it progressed with my trips, art and music opinions, book reviews, and I love that I have gathered so many stories over time, which I can always read whenever I feel like taking a trip down memory lane.

And what better way to invite you into our home than starting with the room we usually have our guests in: the living room (also known as the room of compromise). This poor room has served as dishwasher holder, dressing room, artist studio- pretty much everything you can imagine over the last year and so. We both had this vision that one wall would have a vinyl & Vogue storage place and we would have the turntables on top so Adrian can mix and play music. Of course we had to adjust our expectations a bit and chose Ikea furniture- and this shelving unit ended up being our main bookcase for so many months, as you can see in the first photo of this post- we stuffed it with our favorite books while the other books were patiently waiting in bags for a proper bookcase.

♪ Jay Z- Smile ♪

We've past half of 2017, and I can say I will never forget this year for two reasons: the birth of my goddaughter & moving into my home. It's still surreal for me, how two things can change your life completely for the better. I've been meaning to blog about my home ever since I moved, but I'm always saving money to improve it (for instance, the first stop I made to the summer sales was to buy plates and cups, not Zara unlike many other years) and I wanted to show you guys the finished product. There's still an armchair I haven't got round to buy yet, maybe for my birthday I'll splurge.

Just like fashion, interior design was always a big love and pasion. When I was 14 my parents let me design the furniture in my room and I was hooked! The problem with a room is that you can't change it like you change your outfits. It was a big shock for me when I came to college and I had to stay in a dorm room with such brown furniture, I tried to make the best of it by using all sorts of paintings, photo frames and little souvenirs, but it truly never felt like a home,  it was more like an improvisation.

Fast-forward couple years later and I find myself designing my dream home. In a small space and on a really tight budget, but it was such a blessing and an exciting challenge! I read decor blogs on a daily basis, but most of them don't have sections for a one-room apartment, so I took the matter into my own hands. We found an amazing furniture company, because with the space given the furniture obviously had to be custom-made to maximize the storing space. I picked everything myself and they made it just like I dreamed. Therefore, most of the budget went on the main pieces of furniture, so I had to get creative regarding the other stuff. We were lucky enough to find the coffee table on sale for example, I also got many great house-warming gifts which helped me a lot and I'm forever grateful to my family and friends!

I thought it would be better if I just told you the story of every corner/room individually:

♪ Lana del Rey- Every man gets his wish ♪

I've been very busy lately with school (only one week has passed and I already have 2 tests and 3 projects due) and I found myself using the little spare time I have on my new passions: cooking & interior design(blame Tumblr). I never thought I would say that, I barely was able to make brownies one year ago and the only decoration I had in my room was a messy moodboard haha.

I have always admired fashion bloggers who also shared their point of view on interior design, makeup, cooking, DIY and I wondered if what I'm doing around here is enough. All I can think right now is how I will  want my home to look in 10 years and my mom is a little overhelmed by all the changes that I constantly make in my little room. As for makeup and DIY I'm not quite there yet, I only use coloured eyeliners to be honest and sometimes lipstick. Also, if it's honesty hour already, I'm so bad at fixing things that I can't imagine how I would be able to do any jewelry or clothes by myself haha. Yet, as Mrs. Hepburn would say 'nothing is impossible' and I can pretty much count on that, judging on the fact that I've never expected to want so badly the profession I have finally chosen for my future or cook a decent meal!

As you can see in the first picture , the moodboard is gone and I changed it for a much classier version of what I aspire and I placed some of my beloved Vogue magazines to keep it company (& yes, I usually forget my Zara purse on the pile so I thought to keep it real haha). In the second picture you have my first attempt to do heart-shaped chocolate wafers. If you ever need the recipe let me know, it's simply the best chocolate cream(my dad invented the recipe actually, if only I had inherited more of his talent ).As for the third photo, you can remember that this poster served for a moodboard as well for a little while until I felt that wall was so empty and boring that I had to frame it!

Well, I guess that really looks like a page of teen's fashion diary, I always loved how you can cook and decorate in such a fashion related manner. More on the incredible movies I've seen lately next time! I love you all <3
