When you're in your teenage years, you have to shop carefully for a while, because you don't know what the final shape of your body will be, nor your shoe size. Two years ago, I felt blessed to notice the latter remained constant so I thought :"What the hell? Let's buy dozens of colorful flats and different party heels, I can wear them FOREVER! ". Wrong Mary, you were so wrong...I noticed I was between sizes when it finally got warm and and I was excited to go back to my beloved 7 pairs of Zara flats. Surprise!! I was in excruciating pain as I was trying each and every one of them.

Okay, maybe I can squeeze my toes when I have a party to attend and heels are required ( Cinderella's stepsisters style! ). But on a daily basis? No way. So, I hardly brought myself to spend my spring shopping budget (which took so long to acquire) on two leather pairs of flats, which should be enough for now. You must be thinking I couldn't buy anything 'trendy' as a result but I had the fortune to find one of the pairs in an emerald shade. Color of the year declared by Pantone, I love it so much and I can't wait to show them in a future post!

Until then, here is the other pair from Bata, I went for cafe au lait shade because I'm obsessed with this color palette and it's classy and versatile. I found this coat at the New Look sales, I love the feminine design and how it emphasizes my waist.

What about you, my dear reader, any successful spring shopping yet?

Wedding Attire

Okay, I have to admit, this thing with posting mini guides for different occasions has really gotten me. I'm not sure whether I should make it a permanent column on the blog, but it definitely challenges my creativity! I was talking to a friend the other day about how the wedding season is so close and I don't really have any idea what I would wear to such an event. Then I realized it depends on the theme of the wedding, which makes it perfect for a mini guide!

Still, there are some essentials you need to have in your clutch in all the cases: compact mirrors are great for touch up and they somehow strike me as a type of jewellery. My favourite one was brought by my aunt from Turkey and whenever I have it with me, people admire it. It's so cool to own such an useful and cute accessory. For this collage I chose one from American Bridal, I just love its shape!
Beauty products : Don't bring all of your makeup, just make sure you look amazing the entire night! For the looks I went for Topshop products because they have such a pretty packaging and  I liked the visual impact, can you share your thoughts on their quality?
Also, for me perfume is another important thing. No, I don't bring my whole bottle, I just have tiny versions of various fragrances. You may notice the Miss Dior Cherie in all the sets, that's because it's my favourite and yet I can't afford to buy the big bottle.

And now, let's talk about different settings and what to wear when you attend a wedding:

“She wasn't doing a thing that I could see, except standing there, leaning on the balcony railing, holding the universe together.” -J.D. Salinger

Well, you know you care abot your readers when you reaveal how you look after 2 hours of sleep! I took these pictures on my trip, because I was absolutely overhelmed by the beauty of the landscape. The balcony & my face? Not so fabulous and still, I felt like I had to share one of the marvellous places my country has. There are so many of them actually, it's incredible how we sometimes tend to forget how lucky we are! I love travelling and, although I won't get to visit my dream destinations this year, I decided to stay positive and enjoy the things I encounter.

And since we're talking about amazing things- how cute is my new Chicnova necklace? This is the shade that I call honeysuckle. I have been collecting statement necklaces lately, they just change the whole ensemble.

My advice for you , my dear reader: Travel more and don't only choose exotic destinations, there are always many local attractions we tend to disregard. Manage your time well while you're on the road and don't forget to take your friends with you!

And since we're talking about Chicnova, it's time for me to announce the lucky winner of the giveaway:

Fashion for Vegas

Hitting the road has become pretty common for me lately. I'm spending some quality time with my family in a quite place at the moment after I just got from a 4-day trip/camp with my classmates. It was dreamy, we had so many adventures and parties (in the collage you can see a mirror photo taken before one-so unusual of me , but mom wanted to see the outfit), I slept 11 hours all together and I don't regret it! On the last night, we talked about some of our favourite places to visit and that was the first time I actually felt like I want to visit USA one day badly. Not just the iconic New York and Los Angeles, but also the glamorous and eccentric Las Vegas.

As I am dreamer and I have noticed that you guys respond well to my mini guides when it comes to outfits to wear on certain occasions/ trends I figured I might as well envision the perfect trip to Las Vegas and the outfits appropriate for all the events! The first picture shows an elegant look for a visit to the casino because we all think casinos when we say 'Las Vegas'. What else is there to see? I started searching online and I found so many other things to do in Vegas that I concluded it is a trip worth taking once in a lifetime. Here's how I would dress for my favourite activities there:

CHICNOVA MAIN

I wrote couple weeks ago for a piece for Teenystyle.com on the revival of this marvelous shade we call tangerine. That was just about the time when the Chicnova team offered a collaboration and I couldn't resist choosing this vividly colorful clutch & a pink statement necklace which you will see soon on the blog.

And speaking about statement necklaces...how do you like the new teal one that I'm wearing in this post? I got it at an incredible price, plus it matches with most stuff in my closet.

But that's not the only amazing thing Chicnova had planned for this blog! As the first spring giveaway of TeenFashionDiary just ended, it's time for me to announce a new one:

Now, there are few steps to go through, and you'd better hurry up because this giveaway will only be open for 10 days! Here's what you have to do:

MAIN SHEINSIDE
♪ Tracy Chapman- Give me one reason♪

No, these pictures weren't taken last autumn, as one would think! In fact, Saturday was the day, there were 0°C and it was even supposed to snow . Well, it is snowing as I am writing this and it feels like December again. Maybe you find it weird that I always have to blog about the weather and I figured in this post I might as well share the reasons behind my choice.

First of all, I have a super sensitive skin and cold always damages it. I am also the first one to catch a cold and the last one to get over it.  But the must important effect weather has on me is the mood swing. Don't you just feel fabulous when you see blossoms everywhere and you can wear whatever you want? Or mad when it's so hot you can't breathe?

This super long winter is something I haven't dealt with before and I have noticed in my outfits two directions: the first one is that I choose to wear clothes vividly colorful and I keep saying to myself that spring can't be so far if I'm wearing this and the second one, where I am pessimistic and just throw black clothes on.

I figured that I might as well find some fabulous black clothes to wear as lately I have been leaning towards the second option. This SheInside coat is the perfect addition to my closet!  The shape, the cut, the layering are everything I could have wished for a coat and I love the idea of a leather vest combined with a jacket.
The message on my white loose T-shirt is : "I am Prêt-à-porter" , I bought it last summer and I just think is so fresh and easy to match with so many clothes and styles.

♪ Wild Belle- Another Girl ♪

I can't believe how long I've been holding back from posting these photos! The only reason is that I was hoping not to post these at all because it was a rainy day of spring when I took this and I am STILL waiting for the warm ones but guess what...it's going to snow this weekend! SNOW!  Just when I was just writing my manifesto/farewell to winter...

Oh well, there's another thing which I have been planning to blog about for a long time. It has been over debated , and yet I feel the need to write my thoughts on this as well:

How come fashion bloggers only highlight the great parts and stories in their life and are more discreet and reserved when it comes to a personal crisis or deception?

First of all, lets remind ourselves that there are a lot of successful fashion bloggers who only write about the outfit they're wearing or simply state the labels. I'm just not that type. I tried to focus only on the fashion aspect for a while, but I feel like there are so many other things you should learn from this blog!
Now, about the main question: Many people say that we usually just want to build a perfect life, and therefore our disappointments are never a subject of discussion, but I would argue that there's more to the story. When you visit the sites you love and you happen to be in an amazing mood, wouldn't you be  a little sad and sympathetic to the issues exposed?  Or when you are sad and see a weeping post wouldn't that discourage you even more? Shouldn't you, as a reader, relax and enjoy the content of a blog in your free time?

Than, there comes another sensitive issue: friends and family usually read your blog and however sad and angry you might be, you shouldn't hurt them by writing an acid post. If you stilll feel like letting it all out, you should write about your concerns in an ambiguous style, maybe include a meaningful quote so that only the person in question can tell.

This is what I feel about blogging when you are angry or extremely dissapointed. It's your blog and you're allowed to express yourself however you feel like. Still, a little diplomacy wouldn't hurt. Who knows, maybe even a post about blogging when you're in a weird mood means that the writer herself is actually hurt and mad *wink wink*.

And now, finally a few words about my outfit: I bought this aviator jacket couple years ago, when it was a huge trend and although I love it, I don't wear it so much because its lenght is impractical.  As for the mint scarf, I know I should look for emerald green and neon yellow in the stores already and that mint is not the IT color anymore, but I love it and that's what really matters! This whole color trend concept means that for a few months you have more options to choose from in a certain shade. It doesn't imply you can't wear that color anymore once a new season settles in!

Oh..spring...a new season, new trends, great weather...it's the perfect season to improve our closet!! You might have noticed that I mostly wear dresses and maxi skirts in both spring and summer. I'm a girly girl, that's no secret, and in these past few years it has become quite difficult for me to find feminine, flowy dresses, with ruffles, frills, in pastels tones etc. TheFashionNinja is the perfect place for me to shop online because they have dresses for all occasions and in various styles but they focus on the feminine and classy accents of their pieces! I am in love with their shop, it took me a long time to choose a dress because I could see myself wearing many of their designs (can you guess which was my final pick?).

Imagine my joy when they contacted me to say they would want one of my readers to be the lucky winner of a dress in their shop! That's right, you get to choose your dress, the collage above is simply my Top 3.

''A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.''-Coco Chanel

(Oh, how couldn't I include a photo of my new haircut in the moodboard?? At first I thought it would be just me bragging but hey- this is my blog and you have to put up with my weird moods- thank you for that, by the way!).
I want to go back to the lovely quote of Coco Chanel- I believe that what makes it so genius is its duplicity: it applies in the situations when you decide to make a radical change with your hair (like my BFF did one year ago- it was hard for me to get used to it but I have to admit she looks incredible!) and it's also a great way to comfort yourself after you cut a few inches just to keep your hair healthy.I'm in the second situation right now and I'm missing my long hair a lot (although my friends assured me that it's still long enough) and this quote just makes me smile!

Now, let's talk about the collage itself- I've been doing some reseatch ever since I write for TeenyStyle and I noticed so many cool clothes and trends that I just had to share my favourite selection around here as well. So, I will reveal my TOP 5 CURRENT OBSESSIONS:

Dear friend,
I know we've known each other for so long and that you have the best interest at heart: you want to bring joy, create memories and be there for me every single winter. It's not you, it's your entourage: the blizzard, the impossible temperature, even the mix with rain! I love you Snow, but three full months have been enough. I was sick almost the whole time, it took me a month and a half to find myself a fashionable beanie (okay, that is maybe my fault) and my hair looked terrible through the whole process!
This is the last day of winter and you have faded away...I have to admit I am actually happy. We'll always stay friends, but this 9-month break is more than welcomed! x

(You know you're super stressed and happy when you post super old pictures you were too lazy to post in January and you write a fictional letter to Snow, take it from me.)

On a brigther note, tomorrow is 1st of March! I won't be spending mine ideally because the circumstances are kind of bizarre this year but I love the sun and the spring air so much! And what a better day to post these photos than the last day of winter? Phhh..who am I kidding, it's still weird but I found this in my archive today and loved them so much!

I love you all , I wish you a blissful and magical spring!

You just know it -when you visit a site too many times a day, when you spend a ridiculous amount of time on it with your friends day-dreaming about what would you like to buy if you had the funds, when all your Polyvore sets include items from it that it's time to also BLOG about it.

Now, I think you know already how mesmerized I am by minimalist aesthetics and that's what first caught my attention when I discovered the high-end online boutique Matches Fashion. Of course, I was even more stunned to see that all my favourite brands (Carven , Celine, Stella McCartney, Mary Katrantzou, Marc Jacobs) are there, and, as the Spring 2013 Trend Reports are set to make an appearance in every fashion magazine in the world, I thought I should make a post about my favourite trends (as I have already predicted some of them) using only items from this store that I absolutely love!

Therefore, let's talk about: WHITE, STRIPES, EMERALD, FLORALS
