Before I moved out of my hometown to go to Med School, I bought this pencil skirt and this statement blazer. I proudly told my mom I have to own these type of elegant, statement pieces, because that's how doctors dress. You see, I was inspired by my aunt, who is always so fashionable, she has the best dresses (which I borrow sometimes)! Soon after I started college I realized my classy clothes have to hang in the closet for a long time. When you're on the run from one hospital to another or spend way too many hours in school, you feel like jeans are too fancy already. I just throw on a simple T-shirt, jeans, labcoat and I'm good to go. This is also why I can't walk for more than an hour in heels anymore- I would choose my Nikes over everything nowadays.

My style had to adapt, but this doesn't mean I've changed. Deep down, I'm still an advocate of feminine clothes. I love how wearing a skirt or dress makes me feel. Whenever there's an occasion, I'm more than happy to dress this way! This blazer is absolutely my favorite, because of the intricate details, and the colors- one second you swear it's golden, then you say it's pale blue. It's actually the first time I've worn it in three years, it was long overdue! I felt so amazing wearing it, especially because my talented friend Codrina offered to take some photos so I can show it to you as well. Also special thanks to Andreea for the advice, she has an eye for detail. Support from my friends and family means everything to me, they're the ones who made me find time to blog again, and I've been feeling so great ever since!

In these past few fashion seasons, I developed a sort of love-hate relationship with my favourite brand, Zara. The collections are exquisite, but they don't flatter my type of body, plus the prices have gone up, which makes it nearly impossible for a teenager on a budget like me to shop there. Therefore, every time I enter a Zara store I promise I won't buy anything, but somehow this winter I couldn't help myself from buying an overpriced pair of black boots (that I'm wearing here) and a pink&bordeaux statement necklace.

I can truly say that I wouldn't be able to imagine my closet without these two items. I still wear the boots on a daily basis (because spring is refusing to come) and the necklace is probably the most complimented piece of jewellery I have ever worn.  I bought the necklace because you know I have this obsession for nude shades and I didn't have anything to match with my numerous nude sweaters and tops. I really love its craftmanship and the various type of beads that somehow go so well together. Plus, it can take a simple and casual look, like I am wearing in the photos, at a whole different level! I don't know if I'll ever buy clothes as I used to from Zara, but I will enter their store always to check for the statement necklaces. I just think they're an incredible investment for your closet!

How do you feel about this statement necklace fashion that has been trending for over two years? Do you think it's becoming an essential, like owning a little black dress?

Long time, no see. Happy New Year!!! I warn you, this is going to be a long long post because I missed blogging so much! I spent my NYE out of town, with some amazing friends and I had such a blast, definetely the best party I attended in a very long time! Also, I took the liberty of shopping, quite a lot actually ( I don't currently have any savings, just to give you a hint haha) and I've seen so many movies and ate so many new & extraordinary things that I am just stunned at the moment! Back to the movies section, my favourite was 'Life of Pi' which is a must, such an artistic and profound movie about faith. You know how obssesed I am with 'Franny &Zooey' by J.D.Salinger which sends a similar message, this movie was just my cup of tea!

For NYE I chose to wear the same studded details you can see in this outfit post, proving that you can make this kind of statement jewelry work for both casual and formal attire. Of course, I went for a little black number from Zara, I've been looking for a LBD for literally ages and I am so happy to have found the perfect one!

Also, today is a very special day and I want to wish my lovely and thoughtful mother a warm "Happy Birthday!" . I couldn't wish for a more supportive and incredible mom, she has always been there for me, even at -10 Celsius degree to take these photos and so many others!

As for the outfit of the day, I'm a little in a black phase right now , hence the new black boots , pants and sweater. Don't even get me started on those boots, they were so out of my price range but after trying them on all the other boots in the whole mall seemed so dull and plain. They are also so comfy, and I figured they are a good investment and they won't go out of style. I am obsessed with the clutch and necklace from Zara (thank you, Santa! ) I would wear them everywhere if I could. The studs and the golden details are just fabulous, and you know me and my wide collection of nude shoes, I just needed a clutch to match them!

Hello , my loves! Sorry for not posting sooner, but I am currently enjoying myself in a different town, at my cousin's place. It's exhausting and amazing at the same time, I mean all the tenis, bicycle time, shopping, movies and making new friends..I LOVE IT HERE! 9 days just doesn't seem enough anymore!

I took these pictures couple days before I left my hometown actually, when I went out with my best friend S. to relax a little. I have been wanting to show you this necklace for ages (literally), because it's one of my favourites statement jewellery plus it has this awesome corail shade! Also, I tried something different with my hair because I love this headband with leaf motifs, plus it matched my flats. Now, I can't say enough things to praise this dress! It's just the perfect summer essential, and the fabric feel incredibly on my skin.
Well, I just had the most incredible time with some of my new friends in Copou and tomorrow it's Palas time with another friends (again!), so I don't know what should I add. I know I usually have some words of wisdom so I'm going to rely on my latest experience:

Stay amazing and true to yourself and always keep an open mind! Life is full of unexpected & pleasant surprises and you should make the best of them!

Why, hello there! Sorry my beloved, school has taken me over and I'm now both physically and mentally exhausted. I had no time to post, neither the mood to stay online (you may have noticed that I didn't update the facebook page nor the Instragram profile- @marymanaila). I'm positive though, I'll get through this, especially after having such an amazing day- okay, the second half of it!

Time has come to present my favorite pants in the world! I know, I've been blogging for a year now and haven't got round to post pictures in them, such a paradox. They are called carrot pants because of the shape, they are super comfortable and I bought them from -wait for it, it's so super hard to guess- ZARA! I went for nude tones and pastels so I can emphasize my new statement necklace, which I find fabulous!

How would you like another outfit post on Monday, just to make it up for my absence? I wish you all have a fabulous week! Enjoy life, even at its hardest and this pretty little song!
