Mary's Fashion Diary

Photo taken 2 hours ago with all my new clothes. I hope I'll be able to post all the outfit photos soon.

Ah, not much time left and it will be 2012. This year has been amazing to me, because I have managed to fulfil my longtime wish: starting a fashion blog. It's been a great ride, I had some collaborations, made some money on my own, managed to buy a semi-professional camera from my savings.

Also, 3 days  ago I spent every single dollar I had on a reinvention of my wardrobe. Dresses, colourful belts, wallets and interesting tops. Not to mention the most amazing flats. I think you might have read about it at the facebook page.

I'm more than ecstatic looking back to this year and I hope for the best regarding the next one!
I have also realised that you, dear readers don't know my full name or where I'm from!
I'm Mary Manaila and I come from a small beautiful country, Romania. I love being called just Mary as you may have noticed.

Future plans for the blog in 2012? Definetely get a domain and..who knows..
Happy New Year!!!

♪Train- Shake up Christmas ♪

This Christmas was completely special for me. I have bought a lot more gifts than usual because this year I had the luck to bound with so many incredible people, I got an amazing surprise from Santa, I got to spend half of Christmas's eve with one of my best friends and the first day of Christmas with my other one(soul sister x). I also went caroling with my class and my family has been very kind and supportive.

This is a short visual diary of this holiday, which happens to be my very favourite. The bad thing is that it didn't snow at all, but oh well..when I saw that big box under the Christmas tree I instantly forgot about it.
I wouldn't have dreamed in my wildest dreams that I would get an Ipad, not to mention a Marc Jacobs case, which I ABSOLUTELY adore! Funny thing, I have always thought that my first expensive bag would be a Miu Miu, but I love Marc Jacob's creations and this is no exception!

Therefore, enjoy the story..

I usually think a lot about what should I wear everyday. I do my makeup after and when I think I'm ready to go at look at my hair and notice: "Oh right, haven't got round to wash it yesteday!". That's one of teenagers most common issue, in my oppinion, what to do with your hair in a chrisis?? I usually do a messy bum, which sometimes is really cool (the picture above) or looks like a horrible nest.
I've heard of the dry shampoo a lot lately and I am really tempted to try it myself, as it the fact  that it refreshes your locks without water sounds amazing, plus you are oil roots free for many hours! You get to carry with you around everywhere and your hair would look pretty even at it's worst days. And why not start my first experience with the number one dry shampoo in the UK, Batiste?

And you, dear readers, are really really lucky! Why? Because Batiste dry shampoos are now available in USA and especially at an incredible price at ulta.com. And, to celebrate this fact, the company has decided to give a lovely reader of TeenFashionDiary a can of Batiste. You get to choose  the scent,  Original, Blush or Fresh.

I've always wanted to do a goodies post. And as I haven't posted an outfit in a quite a long time (I usually wear the new stuff on the blog), I've decided to snap some pictures and show it to you, because I feel like Santa came already!

The thing is that my lovely &incredible aunt has been on a bussiness trip in London and she brought me most of the stuff, so cute and perfect for winter! Also, I've done some shopping myself as it's incredibly cold here and I've been sick for 8 weeks already! Other things I got:

In other news, I am freezing in my little town! The weather might seem okay in the photos, but oh..the things I do for the blog...For real, I barely can wear anything but UGG since Friday, when I attended the most awesome prom(and I wore some killer shoes) and not to mention my big , fluffy , white coat.  I look like an Eskimo, a very cute one though haha.

But, you see, I couldn't take the coat on, I mean I LOVE my bow sweater from Zara and it's so much fun to play around the close tone. The boots from Bata are also very comfy, not fashionable, but comfy, and that is exactly what my feet need right now:

Those who are already fans of Teen Fashion Diary on Facebook should know that I have hinted about a first giveaway A LOT lately! The reason why I have postponed this is not because I didn't know what to give away, but for the fact that I have waited for the order to arrive from Asos. Therefore, among with a white boyfriend T-shirt (for me, I am mad about being fashionable when wearing uniform! ) I have also ordered the cutest little thing from Asos: A BOW RING.
It is golden (gold is a hit for this fall), nice details, it's a medium size (didn't know what size to order , so I hope it's kind of universal) and...some great news: You can WIN it, no matter what contry you live in,  and I will make sure it is sent to the lucky winner.

Me back in Summer, Budapest, August
Have you ever noticed that , when you look at a photo from last year all you see different is your hairdo? Like it or not, your hair always emphasizes your face in a different way. Of course, you may loose some weight or have dark circles under your eyes and then you just feel doing your hair differently, even changing it's color.

I was writing in my last post about how I am obsessed with all these unique hairstyles but let's think a little about the basics: you can't do spectacular things to your hair without professional hairstyling tools and different products.

Ah, I'm in such a rush lately, but I have decided to keep you updated as much as I can. This is my new lovely great coat, from Kookai, and I love it! Of course, I was running out of time and my cousin only snapped couple pictures (these in the post are literary the only ones!), but I had to show it.

Therefore, excuse the effects and so on but I had to make the photos look decent. Also, note my hairdo! I'm really proud of it, as I am following lots of hair tutorials lately!

The blouse is also a dear piece of clothing to me, even if this was the second time I have worn it. I got it last fall, when there was a total madness regarding the floral trend.

Wait, I know!!! One post per week, way to go Mary!
I'm so sad because I'm having such a hard time at school because semesters have changed this year and we are crowded with tests! And wait, it's not even evaluation time yet, when I usually only get to eat, learn, sleep!

On a better note, I finally got to wear my knit from H&M! I bought this from Prague, back in August and what can I say: it was love at first sight. I also got it because I have a similar one on white, which I wear at school constantly and it fits me marvelous (oh, how modest I am). Also, you finally get to see one of my favourties necklaces, from Accessorize. I always want to post it here, but somehow I choose another jewelry in the last minute.

What can I say? Love you all, and hope I will enchant you again someday (I will try hard to post before it snows for the first time, haha!) Thanks again to my lovely cousin for the photos!

Oh, I simply love when I look at my outfit posts and a title comes into my mind- which happens to be a line from a song! It gives me so much satisfaction, I guess who said "For every situation, there's a suitable line from a song" was a genius!

As many  of you might know, from the last blog or the FB page I had an incredible weekend away with shopping and long walks(even on this horrible weather) which has come to an end.

Of course, not everything went 100% as planned. For example, I forgot THE CAMERA at home when my cousin was suposed to photograph me in the park , so when we arrived home we settled for this simple street(but not hers, cause it was crowded with cars- bad luck!!!) which I'm not happy at all, but it's not a white wall this time, everybody!

Ah, finally some time to relax! School & blogging..well..they're not friends, at least from my perspective because I'm in a crucial year for my future. Oh, how fun to actually have some time to shop and read the latest issue of Vogue Paris(thank you dad!). Believe me or not, he actually got this 2 weeks ago and I barely had some time to look on the Sasha Pivovaroza editorial and some trend reports.

However, there is one more reason why I have postponed blogging: the loyal readers might have noticed that I haven't posted the regular columns in a long time. I need to explain myself: I plan to only post photos which belong to myself , because I beleive this will help the blog grow a lot. I have to be honest, an inspiration post is good from time to time, but let's admit we all read the top fashion blogs because of the impressive amount of outfit/details pictures.
I'm not saying I'm going to pull this out, but I will try my best!

Knit from Zara I've been wearing like crazy last winter.

I don't know what's the weather like in your country or town, but here it is totally different from the last week. I cannot beleive the substantial change, it is raining all day long and I feel the urge to look for my gloves.
Winter is aproaching, I know for sure but there is a positive side for the fashion obsessed people like me: sweaters, trenches and all the scarves to match them with! Not to mention the berets or the oversized hats!

You are going to think I'm crazy for already planning my wardrobe for this winter, but that's just in my nature! In august , I knew already that I was going to wear red, leopard and snake prints this autumn and now I know what I am wearing this winter: crazy prints&knitwear!
And, as I am always pretentious I want some new boots, to have my dream selection from head to toe. after searching high and low all over the city I have found my perfect ones *drum rolls*...online , at Joe Browns:

These are the first not-even-a-bit-edited photos ever on the blog, because of the lack of time! I'm lucky with my camera, they actually look decent. Also, these are taken just before some school activity, I just can't wait for the weekend!
Okay, I really have to get back to my 400 words essay and wish me luck for tomorrow's test! Love you all!

At the moment, I am crazy in love with this fall's IT  prints. You all must have seen my leopard flats, but there's another item I simply adore.
And yes, I am talking about this snake skin printed bag- pink on top on everything! Go ahead and laugh all you want because it's from Zara Kids(so it's really tiny!) but when I saw a 2 pages spread about snake prints&pink in Vogue Paris- October I knew I made the right decission!

I know that the items hardly go toghether but this weekend has been the last nice&warm one(well, at least on Saturday) and I feel it's my last summer-y and playfuloutfit.

I have a thing for numbers. I can't remember if I have ever written here that I like Maths. Oh, no, I remember telling you about physics . I know this might sound weird, but I like both science and literature, not to mention learning new languages That's why I still don't know for sure what university I want to choose when time will come, but I know for sure that I want to go on in the blogging world!!

I get excited so easily about any special news so this 100th thing seemed such a good opportunity to write a little cute post featuring some stuff around my room. I really love close-ups, especially with the new camera and I'm really proud of how I have managed to bring the fashion sense into my room.
I promise I'm going to post another outfit  soon, just bare me a little more with all these "it's all about the details" post :)

Remember this post where I was telling you about my new camera?

Well, these are actually the first pictures I took using it. Actually, it's not me who took them (obiously!), it was my cousin Ioana, who is a technology genius/little fashionista at the age of 11. I know the pictures don't look that great, it's not the camera's fault but Ioana did try to do her best with a professional camera!
I actually look decent here, thanks to her, although I am teribly sick at the moment. And, even though I carry tissues everywhere, it's still warm outside so I've decided to show some legs, since there are not so many pictures with me in a midi skirt around here if you wonder.

The bag is a bag I've been dreaming of the whole summer! I saw it at Motivi back in June but it was too much for my budget and when I got back for sales I couldn't find it anywhere. Oh well, I sighed and moved on.
However, my extraordinary aunt found it at the final clearance at a quarter of the original price + a matching necklace! I chose to wear them with the most comfortable dress on Earth- from Bershka and my Zara flats.

I still have my "to do" list a fashion blogger and decor is quite a big issue, but at least this time is not a white wall, so give me some credit, please?

Ioana, at Vogue Fashion Night Out, Paris, September 2011

This Monday's Muse happens to be one of the people that inspired me to start this amazing and interesting journey in the online world. Meet Ioana Liliana from Fashezine , a magic blog which I love visiting anytime. It's not only the flawless outfits and the impressive collection of shoes I love(you know me with my Miu Miu obsession!) , but also all the stories, the food journal and all the great tutorials and DIY posts.
The photos are flawless, the design is so unique and Ioana is such a sweetheart when it comes to her readers.

As for her style, she knows best how to mix feminine accents with pastel tones or interresting prints and she is one of the few people I've ever seen to rock white stockings. Each outfit tells a story , and, on top of that , decors are always breathtaking.

Hello lovelies, how have you been? I am sick once again and the school is quite rough , so I'm still trying to figure out how to balance blogging and daily activities. As I wrote before , I got myself a new camera and everytime I have a spare minute I usually take couple of shots.

I actually like how the ones with my Mango necklace came out and I chose to post them because I don't think I have ever posted a look on the blog with me wearing a Mango item so far. It's not that I don't own and love many, it's just something that I can't explain myself, I should definetely try one "All Mango " look soon, because the clothes are waiting patiently in my closet.

So this necklace of mine ...well, it is actually one of my favorite jewelry because it's a light turqoise and it has this little sparkles, not to mention the central piece. It goes with everything and it's just a simple and feminine touch to any outfit. Mango accessories are amazing, really now, I saw an "apple necklace" back in my trip to Prague and I can't get it out of my head!

Sneak peak of my future outfit post!

Okay, I know for sure that I have complained thousands of times around here of how I'm never able to save enough money to buy a decent camera.
Well, I kept silence and..after some months of what I call "sober shopping"(translation: it means you don't buy everything you think it sparkles in the shop and when you get home you realise you don't have that many clothes to match it with) I finally made it!
Now, it's not a super fancy&complicated one as I would have dreamed , but it's semi-professional, FUJIFILM, and I can assure you it's complicated enough after all, haha!
I'm still learning the basics, so please be kind until I actually learn to take impressive photos, or at least close to that.

Oh my! This cape is driving me crazy, especially combined with the pussy bow blouse! Amazing!

As I have stated many times on here, I am an avid lover of what I call "virtual window shopping". I love finding all these shops and boutiques online, that I wouldn't probably have the chance to visit in real life.

Therefore, whenever I find a lovely place online, which seems trustworthy and with qualitative clothes, I like to spread the word, both online and offline. And well, I figured out a while ago, what a better place to write my thoughts other than my blog, where all of you, my dear readers are  stylish people, with a high taste in fashion.

And my last find is.. Ellos! When I came across to it, for the first time, I was rather intigued by their motto: "Welcome to Scandinavian style", since the domain was from UK. However, it didn't take me long to discover that Ellos is a long established brand in Sweden recently launched to the UK.

The welcome of the page was warm&nice enough and I really like the styles offered for this season such as "Granny Glam" or "Fantasy Folk".
I couldn't help but notice they do faux fur, pussy bow blouses and different prints for this particular fall, still with a clean and simple line. I have made a selection of my favorite things I'm considerring to buy at some point:

Wow, my last day of holiday. It all seemed just too little for me, I can't beleive I have to focus on my studies again and that quite scares me, because I don't know how I'll make time to manage the blog. Not to mention all the fashion weeks are happening, how will I be able to set a trend report?

Now, about this outfit: I wore it couple days ago when it was rather chilly so my feet were frozen. I don't think I have ever posted the sandals on my blog, I got them from Bata in July and they have been my favorite ever since because they make my legs look so long plus they are super comfy!

The bag, well...remember my oversized clutch? I forgot to mention the fact you can actually turn it into a regular bag, it is just perfect to wear on a regular basis! Once again, my beloved owl necklace, I know they are not quite in trend this season but my jewelry box is stuffed with owl necklaces , rings and earrings from the last season, so what can I do? You have to admit they send you the message of mistery and wisdom, the owls.

What was I wearing?

So what if it's fall? We can still COLORBLOCK!

So what if it's fall? We can still COLORBLOCK! by marylu1 featuring a tie shirt

I still can't get used to the idea it is fall now. Nothing changed except the weather, at least until Monday, when school starts again. I can't imagine how I will deal with it since it's such an important year, but I'd rather not think about it, at least for the time being.

I feel so inspired lately, I'm excited for the fashion weeks, even if I'll just have to watch the whole experience on style.com and other sites. I don't get why I should give up to bright colors this fall, I think I'll still keep some accents in my outfits (that's why you see that set above). I just have a good feeling, I'm optimistic, it will be my name day soon (I'm Mary, in case you have forgotten) and I have just realised I haven't done an inspiration post in months!

These pictures have been taken such a long time ago, but it was more like a spontaneus thing , a dress-up, when I have noticed that all my purchases were such a fit toghether. (Imagine that, from the whole look, only the boots and bag are old).

Anyway, I had something to attend this weekend and I really liked the idea of wearing my fringe top, it's my little treasure from Motivi. And just the moment I was trying it on , it hit me. I had the same idea of an outfit. Maybe it's because I love these kind of boots so bad, and I have spend a little fortune on mines(-no financial support of my parents on that!). Than the bag!!! My mother have dreamed about it for so long until my dad surpised her and bought one in 2008, from Zara. What can I say, it's my favorite gift even if it's not mine .

Sorry for the overhelming effects, but ever since 2010 when Christopher's Kane collection was all about galaxy and stars, I've been obsessed with these.I haven't edited the close-ups so much, because you wouldn't be able to see the beauty and all the details.

Okay, I have to admit the video got me too, I mean I'm not a Pitbull fan but the idea seemed so out of the box , comparing to how we see Lanvin. Well, I can't be that objective, because it's Lanvin and Alber Elbaz we are talking about, I've always had a thing for this brand!!!

Here we are. The last day of summer. It seemed so short to me, this particular one. Maybe because I had more fun than ever with my friends, I went out almost everyday, I have travelled in special places.
I'm so clumsy that I don't even get to post my outfits in time around here! My little Vaio is stuffed with all kinds of photographs but I have chosen today to show you my last COLOR BLOCK, at least for this summer.

It was my first day in Budapest (Oh God, I'm such a horrible blogger, I forgot about keeping you updated when I was in Budapest!) and I decided back then to play with my H&M ruffled top. It has this special color and the fabric is just perfect, but I haven't worn it more than 5 times because I have received it last summer, when my wardrobe was quite poor. I remebered right 2 days before my trip that I had such thing as a mauve top. Now, I know the flats don't quite fit but they were the only ones unpacked in the afternoon we arrived. The denim harem pants were my favorite jeans for the summer, I think I might have posted back in July a look with them.

Now I beleive you have all noticed THE bag. Remember the post with my oversized clutch from Wholesale? I have stated back then I got 2 bags. This is the other one and I don't know which one is my favorite, honestly! It's spacious and it has this bright bright color, I could spot couple grils on the street starring at it (I hope it was in a good way haha!). You can order it here.

But enough with the rambling, enjoy a douzen of pictures from Budapest and the last day of (this) summer!

Carine Roitfeld, photographed by Karl Lagerfeld

One of the brilliant minds of fashion industry. She changed Vogue Paris completely, she has moved on and styled a campaign for Chanel , she has so many others plans and projects.
I love her work, you love her, yet what made me pick her for this week? I have read recently this incredible article , from Interview Magazine , where she has been interviewed by her dear friend, Karl Lagerfeld.

It is trully inspiring and it's such an amazing dialogue going between the them, you have to read it if you haven't got the chance yet! It's like an essential in the history of fashion. They talk about Helmut Newton, Mario Testino, fashion through ages, family, internet...

Clothing is always a tool that helps me take a picture. But it's never about the clothing.

These pictures are from my third day in Prague, when I had a blast on the most amazing tour and I have found out a lot of fun facts. I miss Prague already so much, but I still got my purchases!
For example , the flats that I'm wearing below! Believe me or not, ever since I got these from a H&M, I wear them on a regular basis!!!

Leopard print is so IN for the season, all the shops are full with it and I'm quite into it myself.

They're leopard printed, and although I'm sure you have seem the skirt and the crop top around here before, they are so comfy and amazing to wear and they seemed like a good match to my flats!
Nevertheless, everything I am wearing is Zara, except the flats :)

2nd day of my trip

It was far more amazing than the first one since we got to visit the Prague Castle- meaning the complex with cathedrals , gradens , the Charles bridge, Loretto(St.'s Mary church) but also so tiring since we had to actually walk in order to visit them.
I can barely feel my feet, but I  got rewarded at evening with a shopping session. As for the weather, it was purely perfect until it rained for like 2 hours.
As for my outfit, nothing special , I just had in mind "comfy" so this post is more about the sights!

I never break my promises, so I have to take my some extra time in this trip in order to update my blog.  I have arrived in Prague, and, as you all have said repeatedly in comments, it is BREATHTAKING!

Imagine just that me the shopaholic, I don't care anymore about the shop, but the streets&monuments I want to visit! And of course, the first outfit that I have worn here, had to match my new bag! That's right, the oversized clutch I was writing a while ago. Well, Wholesale team sent one to me for my birthday!

I have never received a bag as a gift until now, especially from a brand, and the wanted bag! It's amazing, I could swear it was leather when I have first seen it and the color is just what I have dreamed of! I can match it with denim, nudes, purple, all tones in!

Now, a picture overload, wearing:

NO, I'm not in the blues of blogging ,  as you may have thought, haha! I haven't been able to post more often, thing which I feel very guilty of, but I was so overhelmed this week!

Today I have turned 16, and ohhh, it feels great, maybe because some of my best friends surprised me, my family surprised me, I have received a gift from an online brand store and, on top of everything I'm leaving the country tomorrow at 5 AM! You can imagine how much packing a fashionable girl needs! Especially for Prague! I promise I will make it up to you, dear readers, I will even try a full coverage of my trip! Deal?
I WANT TO BE FOREVER YOUNG!

Okay, you're a fashion blogger. You start everything with a load  of enthusiasm, you have bunch of ideas for your posts, inspirational photos, maybe some outfits in mind. This is what makes you a real blogger in fact, this and the ability to interact with people all over the blogosphere.

However, I'm sure that we all have THAT  period at some point, when you feel like you just have to come up with something fun, new , interesting to satisfy your readers, and you have absolutely no idea. It is natural, but it is also so frustrating!
I have come up with some simple tips (soo simple that I'm sure even you have thought of it, it's just all gathered in one simple post now) to get your beautiful & inspiring nature back on track! On top of everything, it is ilustrated with moving names of editorials from different magazines (Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W Magazine etc.)

Hello lovelies, I'm so sorry I have neglected blogging for a short period, but my life is quite hectic right now! I travel , travel, travel and when I'm at home I have all those kinds of holiday  assignments to do! Oh, just stick around  here a little while, because I'm heading to Prague soon!

I have planned posting this look for quite a while, it's a outfit that I've been wearing a lot lately, because it's so comfy and perfect for the temperatures outside!
