Okay, I can't believe my last post was in October!! I feel like my life  has been put on fast forward ever since I got into Med School. It's tiring and stressing because the University I chose likes to keep things old school, so I have at least 2 tests and one project every week. My best friend studies Medicine as well, in another town and she isn't so busy and sleep deprived as I am, but I've come to terms with the fact that I have to study harder, because it will help me for the finals in January. Although it's a massive amount of information to be learned in the course of 12 weeks, I love it, especially the Anatomy of the human body.

A lot has changed in my life. My cousin Alex turned 18 and I tried to prepare him a rad surprise (he states that I pulled that off). He had an awesome birthday party, I really needed a night with some of my close friends. I got another roommate and I adore her!! We support each other and know where to draw the line when it comes to studying ( meaning we take some shopping breaks and we go out for dinner in fancy places when we feel we've had enough). Last night we had the Freshers Ball, hence we are tired and haven't been able to read a single line for the upcoming  Anatomy exam (which is a MAJOR thing, you can't even imagine the pressure). I decided to take this day off and do the things I love most: talking with my family, listening to good music and blogging. Mom took these photos in
late October or early November (?? can't really remember at this point) when I bought this pretty floral H&M dress. I've been wearing it a lot this whole autumn, it has an amazing fabric and it's perfect for both school and get-togethers with my friends.

One thing I truly miss is the voice of my readers. It's a compromise I wasn't really willing to take when I started Med School, and I hate that I don't really have the time of energy to blog. So, what I want to know: are you still out there? I've been trying to post often on Instagram so we can keep in touch, but it's just not the same!! I used to write a recommandation about a book, a song or a movie  in every single post, now I have 5 new book and haven't had time to even open one. What I can advise you, though, is to go & watch Interstellar!! Christopher Nolan is a brilliant director ( Inception will always be one of my favourites) and this movie emphasizes the power of love like no other!

I'm making a real effort here by posting this- not only because I want to keep you updated, but also because so many things happened in my life in the course of two weeks that I'm afraid that in one year from now I'll forget everything, and I have to write this- let's call it diary entry in order to remember everything.

So, I moved to Iasi two weeks ago and I'm currently a Med student. As mom would put it: "You had more awful things happen to you in Iasi in two weeks than you would have in one year in our hometown". I moved in the most adorable dorm room- I consider it perfect, but I've been having all sorts of unfortunate things happen: the window wouldn't open, the door wouldn't close, the toilet wouldn't work (this was by far the most terrifying thing, we had to call for the plumbers two times). It didn't happen all at once- just gradually, As soon as I'd take care of one problem, another one would pop. My heart's pounding as I'm writing this, because I'm not spending the night in my dorm room and I'm afraid of what I might find there tomorrow (please, enough with the bad luck?). I also caught the nastiest cold and I was bitten by a dog (thank God my sympatetic nervous system kicked in and I ran like a professional athlete until it got tired of chasing me) - so there have been some minor health issues.

Adulthood wise, I'm doing far better than I expected. It's hard to be on your own ( I can rely on my aunt for support when things go south, fortunately!!) but I can't say I dislike it. I'm also missing my family like crazy and they came to visit me this weekend (I didn't know I can hug them so many times in one day) and fortunately, I also manage to keep in touch with my friends. I still don't realize that my best friend Simona doesn't live in the same town as I do, we talk all the time and I just feel like she's super close to me. In fact, these are the last photos she took for the blog before we both left our hometown. There is no one to take photos of me for the blog yet, nor time.

Okay, I mean, time wise, I can manage to squeeze some hours to go out with my friends (another post about time management as a Med student will follow). Last night we went to see David Fincher's Gone Girl. Most of the movies he directed are on my "Forever Favourite Films" list, like "Seven" , "Fight Club", "The Social Network", "Zodiac", "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and I've just added "Gone Girl" to the list as well..Mindblowing, intense and brilliant- I would need a whole different post just to describe how much of an impact it has, but then again, I'm running out of time!

The time has come! Tomorrow I'm leaving my hometown and trading it for Iasi, where I'll go to Med School. Generally, everyone is so excited when they go to college: a brand new life, with freedom and adult responsabilities, new friends. Well, I can't say I don't feel those things, it's just that I'm an OVERTHINKER. I'm super organized and stressed out and I'm quite scared about being on my own. It's not the studying part I dread, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to study such interesting things, it's the impossible schedule and having to be independent. Plus, I'm going to miss my friends like crazy- we met for the last time before going away to different cities for college- I can only say there were a lot of pancakes, Pringles, old photos and crying involved. I'm determined to always find time for a chat with them, their friendship is invaluable. I find it strange how writing down these thoughts in a blog post makes me feel better. It's soothing, I look everything from an optimistic angle now that I read them.. Blogging often turns out to be the best therapy for me!

Speaking of best friends, here are the photos of the last day of my trip to Brasov with Simona. We went around our favourite streets one more time and had lunch at a lovely place, with the best pasta (I had some divine 'quatro formaggi') and bought some souvenirs for our families and friends. I love the fact that we had our train at night so we had all the last day to soak that Brasov energy in.

To end this anxious post on a high note, I recommend you watch the video I suggested at the top of the article- it's a live performance by Beyonce and Jay Z- at their last concert of the 'On The Run Tour', held in Paris. Besides the fact that they sing heavenly, there's a footage in the background of featuring their story- the start of their relationship, the trips, the engagement, the wedding, the pregnancy and the most important stages in Blue Ivy's life so far. I am back with lots of photos from my trip to Brasov, as I promised. It took me a lot of time to sort them out because I decided this trip I would go on a photo overload in order to remember all the details (& be able to share them), unlike Paris when I was in a total rush. I really wanted to travel somewhere with my best friend Simona after our college admission and Brasov turned out to be the perfect choice!

For my international readers, Brasov is an important city in Romania, with an impressive history and unique architecture. It has various places to visit (all incredible, I can guarantee!) and you'll be stunned to see the Tampa mountain from every corner of the city. There are also a lot of great places to eat and I particularly loved the atmosphere, the people are so kind and welcoming! It attracts many tourists from all over the world, so it was nice to hear different languages while I stayed there.

These photos are from our second day in Brasov, when we did most of the visiting. I admit I'm a bit of a control freak when I visit a place, I usually have my schedule noted down to every single minute in order to see as many things as I can in a foreign place. Well, Simona proved to be the first travel buddy who somehow made me change the schedule constantly. I don't know how or why, but the fun part is that I actually didn't mind at all. We went with the flow and it turned out to be the most exhilarating trip!

Before I start telling you about all the incredible places we visited that day, note the outfit in the pictures. A navy maxi dress from Gap, which I simply adore and my Zara statement necklace. I forgot my sunnies at home, but I was lucky enough to find this pair at Accessorize in Brasov. Okay, story mood: ON!

4th of September = Beyonce's Birthday! I first heard one of Beyonce's songs when I was eight - 'Crazy in love' - I barely knew any English back then, but the chorus was so fun and simple! (I will admit that the version for the 'Fifty Shades' trailer is simply the best). As I grew up, I would see so many of her clips on MTV- "Upgrade U" was an all time favourite and it struck me that her music and fashion style evolved at the same pace. Ask me about a Beyonce song or a performance and I'll tell you what age I was and what I thought about her outfit.

She has the most angelic voice and she is such a perfectionist when it comes to performances. Just when you thought she had the most creative show yet, you get a surprise once again. Let's recap 2014  for example-"Drunk in love" performance with Jay Z-watched it countless times,  performance in London- green sequined dress by Tom Ford, remember?, 'On the run' tour with her husband,  the iconic VMA show. I was so happy to receive 'The Visual Album' by Beyonce for my birthday, the songs follow in a such a harmonious order and the videos are flawless!

I also notice a constant evolution on the fashion front. To be honest, I started regarding her as a fashion icon in 2011, I just felt like something changed in her style. 2014 has been her best fashion year yet, in my opinion! She often shares her daily looks on Instagram, which I love, her Versace bodysuits which you can see on tour are to die for and she wore perfect dresses to all the Awards ceremonies she attended!

I made a set (see above) with items from the fall collections which are Bey-worthy. First off, we have a gorgeous Stella McCartney bodysuit and some cool Stella McCartney earrings. Stella is one of my favourites this autumn, she just took everything to a different level (I will write a post about this soon). Next, we have the famous Stella McCartney Elyse Shoes (those nude stars are so cute!!), a Stella McCartney backpack, a Kate Spade dotted mug, a Kate Spade passport case because she is always 'on the run', Kiehl's creme de corps, and a rad shade of NARS lipstick.  The colorful watch is also Kate Spade and it goes perfectly with that lavander Stella McCartney clutch. This J Crew printed skirt is so Bey and I matched it with an American Apparel crop top, because you know how much she loves those! Now, I put together a gym look as well, we can all see she's in an incredible shape! The T-shirt is Mango and the pants are Adidas by Stella McCartney (and so is the yoga mat). I also loved the Swarovski 'Love' necklace and the orange J Crew pumps. The Iphone case is by Kate Spade and the sunnies (I think we're going to see her wearing a pair of these pretty soon, it's her favourite model) are Stella McCartney.

Now, let's all enjoy some photos of Queen B., the birthday girl:

I can say I started my adulthood at 18, when I got my driver's license, went to Paris without my family and had my college admission, but for some reason 19 strikes me just as important as 18. It's the age that kind of tells me "Adolescence is gone" because I will be moving into a big city this October, in order to attend Medical School. I'm scared, suddenly I'm thinking how to pack my whole life in a couple boxes in order to fit into my small college bedroom. I have a credit card, I have responsibilities and I got gifts such as a toaster or an iron for my birthday this year. Also, it's probably the last birthday I get to celebrate properly in my hometown. I love my home so much, so instead of taking my friends out for a pizza I threw a casual party, with a special menu and a "Just Dance" marathon competition. I had a lot of fun, being surrounded by special people, my family and I loved my gifts so much!!!

It was the perfect birthday, it's not like I won't be coming home from college when I have time (although it is a 4 hour drive), but I just want to remember it this way, filled with laughter and positive energy. You'll find notes under each photo in this post (my gifts, my cake, flowers etc.), but I just want to tell you the story of this outfit first. Three days before my birthday, I left with my best friend Simona on a "birthday weekend" to Brasov. I fell in love with the city, it reminded me so much of Prague and Florence, yet it had its own distinctive air, and visiting it with Simona just made the experience a thousand times better! On Friday, the day we arrived there, I had no idea what I would wear at my birthday party. After visiting the Black Church(more on that in my future post) we decided to briefly check out the shops. After one hour of shopping there, I had my whole outfit planned (and another great purchases)!  I initally loved the Accessorize necklace I'm wearing in the photos, but didn't buy because I didn't have any outfit in mind for it. Ten minutes later, I walk into a Depot96 and I see this floral skirt! I've been in a quest for a perfect floral skirt for years now, and it was 50% off. As I bought it, I thought how perfectly it would match the necklace: it has two blue chains and two tangerine ones. As always, I took the photos before I had my curls and makeup done, so excuse the just-washed terrible hair.

I've put a lot of thought into this post, on whether to share a very important life achievement online or not. I figured out it's the right thing to do because it is my personal blog and I want to remember this moment, but also because it explains why I took more than one month hiatus on Teen Fashion Diary. As you know, I graduated highschool at the end of May and getting into university is a challenging experience. I first had an essential exam, called Bacalaureat- if you don't pass it, you are not eligible for college. I worked really hard on this complex exam (actually- exams- there's three of them) because it meant 25% of my college admission grade (and it went amazing, thank God). Two weeks after it, I had the actual exam which would determine my future (75% of the final grade, Anatomy). It has been the most intense experience of my life! I have been learning Anatomy for almost two years and ten days before the big text I have studied for 12 hours a day. Thankfully, I was the first to get into Medicine.

I still can't wrap my head around this achievement and I have my family to thank for constantly supporting me through this process! In these last few months I felt like I would never have a vacation again. But now that time has arrived, I have started watching "True Blood" (why did no one persuaded me to check it out before??) and reading all the John Green books I can get my hands on! After the big exam, before I left Iasi (my future home, starting October) I had a serious shopping session. I really felt like I deserve to get myself a gift, a really big one. So I went rogue at the Sephora sales, found a couple of cool T-shirt at Oysho, finally found a earcuff that suits my ear and I bought this gorgeous statement necklace from Zara I'm wearing in the photos. It was love at first sight, although my mom says it's only for special occasions I kind of match it with everything, I just can't stop wearing it!

As for the title of the post- I found my ideal Palazzo Pants after three years of searching! They cost a lot, but I didn't care because they're actually more of maxi skirt meets palazzo pants and with really cool splits on the sides. One week after I purchased them, they went on sale at 70% - I'm not always lucky when it comes to fashion deals. I saved them for a special occasion- which came on Saturday when I took my family out for lunch at our favourite place in Iasi - Little Texas to celebrate my college admission. The food is simply the best - I managed to snap a couple of pictures of our desserts because we jumped right on the chimichangas, nachos, tacos etc. They also have a beautiful garden, which you can see in these pictures and it's such a serene and magic place!

With my college admission exams coming up, I find myself most of the times at home, studying for the important moment. But how do I keep my sanity when all I see is my room and a pile of books on my desk? I have four different activities which I alternate, depending on how much spare time I allow myself a day. First of all, I watch Audrey Hepburn's movies again. There are so many details in "Sabrina" or "Funny Face" which I haven't noticed before, I'm thinking about making a post about Audrey's exquisite work. Secondly, I watch my favourite TV shows from time to time- the "Game of Thrones" finale was certainly an epic one, I loved it! Then, I have my usual get-together with my friends (pictured above on the right) where we complain about our studying and the fact we won't get to see each other on a daily basis next year and we indulge in some fancy desserts.

Last but not least, I do a lot of "virtual window shopping" especially because there are a lot of summer sales going on right now. That's why summer is my favourite season: best sales, fresh fruits , great weather to go out with your friends and the endless possibilities you have when it comes to your outfits. For example,  I have discovered some amazing printed dresses at Gliks like the floral number you can see in the set above. It's so fresh and flowy, and I've also come across to these Gliks coupons online! I will definitely keep an eye on this brand in the near future, I really love their creative cuts and patterns.

You may remember another brand I love from my old posts, Sanuk. I featured their "Dotty" espadrilles a couple of times here, but this summer they have taken the "print trend" to a whole different level. Just see for yourself in the set I made bellow, I need all those pairs! I'm in for some gruelling weeks, it's my last occassion to prepare for the most important exams in my life. Therefore, I decided I need a mini holiday before everything so I left with my family for a couple of days to Iasi- my eternal love. I loved refreshing my wardrobe by shopping some summer basics, discovering the best hot chocolate (on a hot summer night, I know, but I got this terrible flu) and the best ice cream combination (called "Crazy Nuts"- clue: Snickers ice cream overload), reading the exquisite British Vogue number featuring Kate Upton on the cover while enjoying some Arizona Green Tea, chilling with my cousin and my friends who live there and last but not least, going to the "Edge of Tomorrow" movie. To elaborate, I've never been a Tom Cruise fan but I like Emily Blunt and my cousin insisted it would be a great action movie so I gave in. I went there, armed with my caramel popcorn and 3D glassses , without knowing anything about it except the main cast. And it was amazing! If I would have known the main topic was the battle between humans and aliens , I wouldn't have walked into that cinema! But the script was genuinely funny - it was an unexpected surprise.

Now, let's talk a little about fashion. That is a MOSCHINO bag, to address the obvious question! I have always loved the Italian brand and swore that I would buy an iconic bag when I would have a salary in the future. But I have a massive amount of luck- I follow Harvey Nichols on Instagram because I love their store and they were holding an exciting competition, in order to celebrate Moschino's 30th birthday. The prize? A classic mini leather bag, in a navy shade!

Ever since I got the bag, I have unconciously adjusted all my outfits to match it and this weekend, while I was walking into Otter looking for some new flats (I'm currently between sizes, bye bye my actual shoe collection!) I laid my eyes on the perfect baby blue flats. They are the perfect summer essential, so comfy and easy to match with pretty much everything.

The dress has another story- I'm all about finding some basic and comfy dresses for the hot summer we're in for. My aunt travelled to Athens recently and she found this beautiful, chic yet super casual Gap dress. I adore the soft cotton it's made of, Gap is all about excellent fabrics. The last two weeks have been the busiest of this year so far! Two important exams, lots of trips, graduation, being valeditorian of my year and actually having to prepare a speech for the occasion, the prom and even a wedding in my family. Imagine how hard it was for me to find time to fit into my schedule the shoot for the dress I designed in collaboration with Fame&Partners! Every single day I would wake up and see the gourgeous powder peach gown hanging near my desk and I would say: "This is the day! I have to show my readers how it looks!", but then something terrible would happen like four days of straight rain or an unexpected departure.

We tried to capture all the little details you can't see on the site, like how the intricate lace has a 3D effect, with that extra layer of florals. Also, you can notice how the dress isn't actually see-through on the sides. When I started creating this dress I knew that I wanted an open back dress, but I was concerned about the bra situation. As always, the Fame&Partners team was amazing and ensured me they would do a special support thing in the front- similar to a corset. It turned out great, you can dance your heart out on your big night and not have to worry about anything falling out of place!

Now, a little bit about how I styled it: I chose some nude open-toe sandals because the summer vibes got to me, but you can easily match it with some elegant nude shoes (or something baby blue- like those Gianvito Rossi pumps that stole our hearts this season). My watch is a golden rose shade, but pure golden would work as well! As for the earrings, I have to admit I'm still on the quest for a statement pair! Any affordable suggestions anyone? So far I've only found Chanel earcuffs or J. Crew chandelier earrings online (a girl can dream). For the hair, I went for an easy peasy sock bun- why did no one tell me it only takes two minutes to make and yet it looks so fabulous?

I really look forward to hearing what you think about the concept of the dress and the collaboration, my dear readers! Brace yourselves for plenty of photos:

How should I start this post? I must have erased ten senteces by now, this always happens to me when I'm euphoric! So, I'm just going to write it down: IT'S FINALLY HERE! My collaboration with the incredible brand Fame&Partners! When I started this blog, I had no idea I would ever get to design something on my own thanks to it. I still pinch myself everyday when I talk to the talented team behind the Fame&Partners brand.

It all started back in December, a couple weeks before I left for Paris. I received a mail that sounded too good to be true: how I would like to design a prom dress? As I'm in my last year of highschool I was like: "I very much need a prom dress!" but I couldn't quite process the fact girls all over the world could choose this dress as their prom number as well. It has been by far the most exciting creative endeavour I've ever been involved in. It took a lot of dedication from both parts, sacrifices to meet via Skype because of the different timezones and even accepting to change the final colour of the dress you're looking at. How so?

My primary inspiration was a photo you can see below in the Polyvore collage, featuring the back of a beautiful salmon colored dress. That moment, I knew my dress would have a similar cut in the back and I was opting between peach and lavander for the color of the dress. I decided for lavander in the end, but the tricky lace changed everything a couple months ago. I say "tricky" because both myself and the Fame&Partners team thought the lace was essential for the dress, yet the right fabric was nowhere to be found. In March, I received a photo of the most delicate lace from the design team and I told myself: this is THE lace we need! The only thing about the fabric was the fact that it only came in peach, so we decided the dress had to be salmon/peach again. I am honestly really happy about how it all turned out, this is perhaps the Universe's way of telling me that the dress was meant to be in this shade and I cannot wait to receive mine (it's on its way) and try it on!

You can find the dress for sale here or in their Ebay store. I made this Polyvore collage to show you a way to style it ( I intend to make a couple more suggestions in the future). I believe you should wear this dress with nude pumps or sandals (although, let's face it : those Givenchy rose gold sandals are probably the ultimate match made in heaven, but we can't all be incredibly rich) and with statement earrings (perhaps an earcuff? ). No necklace should appear, in my opinion, because the details of the dress in the neck area shouldn't be hidden.  As for the clutch? You can either match it with your shoes, go for a bold tone like bordeaux or intense purple or choose the ultimate accessory: a book clutch.

I am so happy my cousins came back in time from their Liverpool-London trip to celebrate Easter, because I can't imagine this amazing holiday without them. As always, they brought me incredible souvenirs, my favourite one being this "C'est la vie" Next jersey. I'm a huge fan of this sweatshirt trend, but I couldn't find one to sum up all my needs: a thick fabric, a cool print, a color which would flatter me. Well, my aunt did! In these past few fashion seasons, I developed a sort of love-hate relationship with my favourite brand, Zara. The collections are exquisite, but they don't flatter my type of body, plus the prices have gone up, which makes it nearly impossible for a teenager on a budget like me to shop there. Therefore, every time I enter a Zara store I promise I won't buy anything, but somehow this winter I couldn't help myself from buying an overpriced pair of black boots (that I'm wearing here) and a pink&bordeaux statement necklace.

I can truly say that I wouldn't be able to imagine my closet without these two items. I still wear the boots on a daily basis (because spring is refusing to come) and the necklace is probably the most complimented piece of jewellery I have ever worn.  I bought the necklace because you know I have this obsession for nude shades and I didn't have anything to match with my numerous nude sweaters and tops. I really love its craftmanship and the various type of beads that somehow go so well together. Plus, it can take a simple and casual look, like I am wearing in the photos, at a whole different level! I don't know if I'll ever buy clothes as I used to from Zara, but I will enter their store always to check for the statement necklaces. I just think they're an incredible investment for your closet!

How do you feel about this statement necklace fashion that has been trending for over two years? Do you think it's becoming an essential, like owning a little black dress?

That's why whenever I find a cool application I love to blog about it, because I noticed most of my readers are also tech savy (thank you for following me on Instagram & Facebook!).

A couple of days ago I discovered Poptalk and I just had to share it with you! Poptalk is an instant messaging app. So far so good, but I bet you're thinking "There are hundreds of them, why should I start using a new one?". If you are like me, then you will find it ideal because it literally shows your emotions. How many times did you find something funny and replied with "haha" and then you found out that the other person thought it was sarcasm? Or when you were anger with somebody, yet your answers didn't give anything away? I like the fact that by using Poptalk you can wear your heart on the sleeve! You must have noticed that I tend to overuse the "!!!" sign in my writing- my favourite author F. Scott Fitzgerald would strongly disagree- but I do it because I want to express my excitement somehow.  To put it in Poptalk emoticons , when I'm blogging about it I feel like :(dance) .

There is one more aspect that made me start convincing my friends to start using it as well: it's an app worthy of a fashionista! Your avatar can have any hairstyle, you can buy clothes, even statement necklaces (they won my heart with this!) and you can choose a background.  You'll see in the next photos that my avatar has some sleek nude shoes, I would love to own them in real life! I want to live my whole life here!" , and on the other hand, as I'm looking at these photos I wonder how will I be able to keep in touch with some people who are really important in my life (especially mom & dad, I can't imagine waking up and not finding them in the house). I guess in the end I have to accept these major changes and hope that I will make new friends in this beautiful city while still reconnecting with my highschool mates.

Oh well, I still have three full months left until that turning point, so let's talk about fashion ( cause this is what the blog's about, right?). I may haven't had time to post outfit photos this winter, but I will tell you what I wore mostly: SWEATER DRESSES. So comfy while still tight, they always keep you warm, they go great with boots: what not to love? My favourite one is from Zara ( you may have seen it on my Instagram) and as spring arrived I was sad I couldn't wear it anymore. My mom surprised me and got me another sweater dress , the one I am wearing in this post, only the fabric is lighter and it has these cool epaulettes. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to shoot it properly because of the texture of the fabric: you know when people wear small stripes on TV? That's how awful my dress looked in photos taken from distance. Therefore, I leave you with a few portraits so you can at least see the details:

Here comes the bride

One of the things I love about blogging is the fact that after I post something me and my friends create a whole chat offline about it. Therefore, after my recent post about bridesmaid dresses, we started talking about how much should this kind of dress cost, as you're paying for it. We came to the conclusion it's worth to opt for cheap bridesmaids dresses, especially since there's a big selection on the Internet. One thing led to another and we ended up talking about how much should the bride spend on her dress.

Being a fan of "Say yes to the dress" show back when I was younger, I noticed how brides who had a 2000$ budget could barely find their dream dress, so I got the idea that you should have some money put aside for your big day. One of my best friends think you should have even the double, because it's an unique day and you want to cherish its memory forever. Others think you can use the money in a better way and spend it on your honeymoon, so both you and your soulmate can benefit (or buy some Louboutin shoes you can wear also after the wedding, the options are endless).

In the end, we all agreed there should be a cutback on the wedding dress budget, but how big? I started searching out of curiosity online and I found some incredibly cheap wedding dresses  at DressDressy that I included in the sets in this post: I just can't believe they're under 300$ (hello, you can't even buy a designer bag at this price!). Where have I been living in this past few years, thinking that you should have at least 3K put aside for your dream wedding dress? That's the great thing about internet, you never know what marvel you may come across!

How do you feel about wedding dresses: would you recycle your mom's dress, buy one on sale or go completely over the top and choose an expensive designer one?

I can't believe I still haven't shared with you all the photos I took in Paris back in December! This is a very emotional post for me, because The Eiffel Tower is proof there still are things which can surprise you in an overhelming way.

We've seen it from far away many times while we stayed in Paris, and in our final night we wanted to go visit the entire Rive Gauche , including Le Cartier Latin, Saint-Germain-des-Prés etc. and end our tour at the base of the Eiffel Tower. Due to the fact that from our hotel there was no good connection to the left bank by metro and we walked in circles for more than an hour looking for the bus station., we weren't able to complete our plan. We got all upset and disappointed that our last night was wasted in such a terrible way. Thank God I'm one of those people who use their anger to get out of a critical situation. I remembered how easy was to get from the Champs Elysees to Place du Trocadero by subway. Therefore, I even persuaded  Cristi to stop for half an hour to walk on the Champs Elysees again ( just to soak it all in- the pretty Louis Vuitton windows, the fancy bistros) and then we went to see the Eiffel Tower.

We had low expectations because we were tired, we heard that it was an overrated sight , plus we were told we should see the tower from its base. There were also all sorts of weird people, as it was Sunday, very late at night. And then WE SAW IT! Imense, imposing, a true work of art! I suddenly felt blessed that we had this change of plans, because the lights were incredible and I felt like the tiny tower we've seen from far in the last days had nothing in common with the architectural marvel I had in front of my eyes. The photos don't do it justice, trust me, it's even more imposing seen from the Trocadero! You have to visit it yourself (at night) to understand my feelings of excitement and love.

I can't understand why Parisians hated La Tour Eiffel so much at first- Guy de Maupassant went as far as eating every meal in the tower because it was the only place he would not see the 'hideous' creation on the window in Paris. Maybe it was the idea of change that scared them. When I was little, I used to cry every time we got new furniture or a new car, although it was an obvious upgrade. I would make a scene and call it horrible and then, after some time, I would have become so attached to it my parents would be completely shocked.

It was love at first sight and that's when I decided that one day I will visit Paris again and I will take my time to study the tower from all the recommended angles and lights (plus, I still haven't seen Le Cartier Latin, Disneyland and Versailles). I don't think you can ever say you've seen everything worth to be visited in Paris, it's such a magical city, one where I felt genuinely happy and blessed!

Bridemaids Dress

♪ Gotye- Heart's a mess ♪

I've blogged about weddings and the perfect dress to wear on your special day many times before. But what I've forgot to question is bridesmaid duty! It crossed my mind recently, since I'm finishing highschool and all of my best friends will attend university in different cities. Will we be able to keep in touch? Will we still feel the same connection, that strong that when the time comes we would ask each other to be a bridesmaid? Obviously, this issue has been illustrated with humour in a douzen of famous comedies, like Bridesmaids, Bachelorette or my favourite, 27 dresses (this made me particularly emotional).

I get all nervous only when I think about how me and my friends are going to look in 10 years, let alone the idea of one of us getting married. Still, there is still one bright aspect about it: the outfit. Most bridesmaids dread it, then there is also the issue of color: should the maid of honour pull a Pippa Middleton and wear white at the ceremony? What about the lenght? While searching online, I have found an amazing selection of  2014 bridesmaid dresses at MillyBridalShop. They have all sorts of designs, which come in all sorts of colours. My favourites are the one shown in the first set, which I would describe 'urban ballerina' style and the one with a single shoulder strap- so chic and elegant!

Now- how to accessorize a bridesmaids outfit?

Light Accents- You can see it in the first set: light tones, nude shoes, a pink nail polish perhaps. It will complement your look while keeping it low profile.
Bold Colors- Whether we're talking about statement shoes of colorful clutches, it's nice to wear a chic accent that will make your look light and fun! See my take on this alternative in the second set.

Good Vibes Only

Okay, so I have been on a social hiatus for the last couple of months! I made this decision based on the fact that I have the most important exam of my life in July, so I now it's the time for me to study more than ever. I have missed blogging dearly and free time in general: I only allowed myself to watch my favourite TV shows (gotta keep my sanity in order somehow) and indulged in some occasional reading.

It's the first fashion season that I did not show interest to the trend report...until last night. I came home late after a very sweet evening out with my friends ( we had three major exams this week so we allowed ourselves a celebration) and I was sleepless. I saw an email in my inbox from the Net-a-Porter newsletter and I thought I should check the new collections they have online. I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE! With everything: I was craving baby blue high heels (both Gianvito Rossi and Fendi offer a great selection),  a Balmain light denim skirt (it was a huge surprise for me, as Balmain is knows for darker tones) and pretty much everything else, when it hit me: "I have to share my discoveries with someone, this fashion season is insanely genius!" . And who else is a better choice than you, dear reader?

So, here we go, the highlights of the season I have noticed in a brief visit on Net-a-porter:

Our second day in Paris was all about showcasing our project in the competition. Therefore, we spent all the day in the museum and arrived in our hotel room around 8 PM. What to do in such a short amount of time? Visit the Champs-Élysées Boulevard, famous for the shopping spots, cool places to eat and the flawless Christmas decorations. It was truly fortunate we got to visit it during the night and most of all, in December!! The view is breathtaking, although we took many photos of the street (from one end to another) , when I think of our walk a quote of Alan Furst comes to my mind:
"The best Paris I know now is in my head."

The shops were so perfect, there was magic in the air, but the streets are overcrowded, therefore taking a photo is almost impossible. Also quite an unattainble thing for us: the shops. Although there are many high street shops, you can only find their most expensive lines, I only had the heart to spend my money at Gap shopping for four members of my family, because it's their favourite shop. Now, I had to spoil myself as well so I went to Ladurée, because macarons are some of my favourite sweets and I've heard they're the best in the world in Paris. I waited in line for like 30 minutes, and I feel like it's the right place to thank Cristi one more time for agreeing to wait with me instead of walking around the boulevard. I bought 4 flavours: chocolate, raspberry, praline and coffee. What can I say about my Ladurée experience ?

1. The macarons are absolutely divine. I've heard that the Pierre Hermé ones are better, but how many times can you torture a guy while in Paris and in a crazy rush to wait for you?
2. I've eaten other macarons during my stay in Paris and also in Romania and I just can't compare them to Ladurée. Laduree has this special mix between smooth and crisp, just the right amount of filling, flawless shape.
3. Every single person who bought macarons took a picture in front of the shop , which I thought was so sweet so I asked Cristi to snap a photo of me with my Iphone.
4. Praline is absolutely my favourite flavour, I would go back to Paris just to stock on praline macarons!
5. I couldn't help myself and bought a golden/floral printed Ladurée notebook, which goes so great with my phone!

London calling

Happy (belated) New Year everyone! I hope you're having a fresh start, I've been a weird mood lately, I kinda lack energy and I just feel it's something I can't quite control. What do I do when I feel like this? I blog about trends!

I told you in a previous post this New Year my friends and I chose comfort (jeans), but I still felt like I had to wear something festive. Therefore, I opted for a sequined sweater, which matched (unexpectedly) with my studded statement necklace and clutch. Studs and sequins- who knew? The footwear I chose brings me to the main topic for today: winter boots for teenagers.

There are two type of purchases teens make for the fall:
1. impossible high heels, which are excruciating to walk in during winter time (unless you live in LA- then you kinda don't need boots at all), but we still buy them because we want to look fabulous during winter as well and we think 'I can totally pull this off, I'm young so heels won't be a problem for me'. I've been down this road for two winters, I resigned and bought some UGGs to comfort my feet.

As your looking at my 3 inch wedges from Zara I bet you're thinking "She's done it again!". Believe me, I'm surprised to say it's not the case! Zara has been my favourite store for 5 years, but lately it disappointed me with all the masculine cuts and absolutely no emphasis on the waist, but on the hips. Okay, I get that's cool to look like you're from a Celine ad, but there are still some girls with curves out here (me!) who would like to buy some feminine clothes, and the section was almost inexistent in the last two seasons. Therefore, I banned myself (more precisely: my wallet) from my dream store. Until the 30th of December when I was in desperate need of some cool boots and it was the last store I hadn't checked.  I saw this perfect pair, I fell in love but then I thought: "Uh, they won't fit me, Zara shoes are always hard to wear for me!". But they felt like they were made for my feet and I couldn't tell they had a 7 cm heel. I checked the label to see if they're made from genuine leather and then it hit me: the price! I had to call my mom to lend me some money, because I just knew they were the right pair for me!

I guess that in the end you can actually find some impossibly high boots to walk in and feel great in them, but please make sure they're worth the money, or at least try to use a  6pm Coupon Code 2014 if you can order them online.

2. comfy, cool boots: They keep your feet happy and warm, and you can face a blizzard wearing them. The problem is it's hard to find this type of boots in a fashionable form. Brands like Sorel specialize on this type of footwear so I believe this Sorel Coupon Code 2014 can come in handy if you're still looking for the perfect winter boots.

Details of my look:  I'm even matching with my Iphone 5S, I must have a thing for gold and nude tones! Everything is ZARA (I know I said I haven't shopped there much in the last two seasons, but still , 80% of my closet is Zara)
