It's been a long time since I last spoke to you. That's partly because the 4th year of Med School came with a whole other level of responsibility, and the summer finals I just finished were particularly difficult. But another big part played the fact that time spent researching fashion was downgraded on my list. 2018 has been so far the year my mindset and priorities shifted dramatically. With everything that's going on in our world right now, I chose to spend my spare time reading history and politics books.

Still, when I was through with my finals, I obviously craved the summer sales and although I got there 4 days late, I was lucky enough to find some really cool items for my summer holiday (more on that in a future post). One dress really caught my eye- a black flapper dress! I loved it so much, because you might remember about my obsession with F. Scott Fitzgerald's work and the fact that "The Great Gatsby" is always going to be in my top books list. I wanted to buy it so hard, but I really had to prioritize my budget and I already have a lot of black dresses in my closet.

But when I got home I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I had a thought- are there online stores which sell flapper dresses? I discovered Wardrobe Shop and although I would wear all those flapper dresses to a theme party, one dress really caught my eye and I really had to show it to you as well. You can see it in the collage above or find it here. I literally gasped when I first saw it- first of all- it's white& long, I instantly thought bride material! Secondly, it was like all my fashion knowledge rushed back and I could see the influence of three major designers- the front- Elie Saab, the back- Ricardo Tisci when he was at Givenchy, Miuccia Prada for the twenties vibes she channeled when she designed "The Great Gatsby" costumes. I literally can't explain how much I love it , I'm basically looking for a special occasion so I can have an excuse to buy it- but I still have 2 years of Med School left, so no formal dance for me any time soon haha.

Over the years, we have debated a lot on this blog about weddings: the right dress, where to find a cool bridesmaid dress, the perfect hairstyle and yet I seem to have missed one important thing...can you guess it? I was talking to a friend the other day about the comedies I've watched lately and I couldn't help but wonder if the engagement party is a big deal for most brides, like American movies seem to indicate. This led me, of course, to the question: What does the future bride wear? I started to play around in Polyvore, looking for dresses which would be right for an engagement party , taking in consideration different personalities and then it hit me: the outfit has to make THE RING stand out.

That's right, we never discussed the ring. Maybe it's because women are not the ones who choose it. I suddenly became really curious if one could order an engagement ring online. It turns out it's a really popular option nowadays and one affordable brand got my heart! You know I love shopping online and discovering new sites. I love to read about their story, go through most of their online stock, search for its presence in the social media etc. Jeulia is the brand I discovered, and its story is so sweet and sincere: the owners were classmates in college and lovers. They both dreamed of opening a jewelry store and when they graduated they promised each other that when their dream would come true, they would finally marry. The husband thought of the name "Jeulia" because his wife is named Jolie (and let's face it, it's also a great reference to jewelry!). I just melted when I read their story, and I fell in love even more with their engagement rings!

The Jeulia rings are stunning, and they come in so many different styles and colors! I have to confess I never saw a black diamond engagement ring before, I honestly think they're so cool, which is why I had to include my favorite in one of the collages I made (for the "Punk Rock bride"). Although they are known for their engagement rings, they have expanded in both in necklaces and bracelets areas (the EKG golden chain is so rad!).

So, let's talk about four different styles of engagement outfits and about their matching rings, of course:

Although I had one major exam this week and I still have another coming up on Tuesday, I decided to take a break from the exhausting life as a highschool student in her final year. Therefore, I'm in my favourite city in the world (sorry Paris, I love you, but I wouldn't be able to live as a Parisian!): IaÈ™i. There is a certain serenity and peace here. Whenever I feel lost, sad or have a writer's block, I feel the urge to visit this beautiful city. The truly exciting part is that if I get admitted into the university I want, I will live here.

Most of the times, I dream and make plans about moving. But I just came across these beautiful pictures Cristi took of me a couple of weeks ago in my little city and I'm thinking: will I ever be able to do this? I know this is the most natural thing that comes with growing up: moving. But for me this change also means staying away from most of my friends, because they will attend universities in other cities (and even countries!). I'm conflicted: on one hand, as I'm looking through the window right now in Iasi I'm thinking: "Yes! I want to live my whole life here!" , and on the other hand, as I'm looking at these photos I wonder how will I be able to keep in touch with some people who are really important in my life (especially mom & dad, I can't imagine waking up and not finding them in the house). I guess in the end I have to accept these major changes and hope that I will make new friends in this beautiful city while still reconnecting with my highschool mates.

Oh well, I still have three full months left until that turning point, so let's talk about fashion ( cause this is what the blog's about, right?). I may haven't had time to post outfit photos this winter, but I will tell you what I wore mostly: SWEATER DRESSES. So comfy while still tight, they always keep you warm, they go great with boots: what not to love? My favourite one is from Zara ( you may have seen it on my Instagram) and as spring arrived I was sad I couldn't wear it anymore. My mom surprised me and got me another sweater dress , the one I am wearing in this post, only the fabric is lighter and it has these cool epaulettes. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to shoot it properly because of the texture of the fabric: you know when people wear small stripes on TV? That's how awful my dress looked in photos taken from distance. Therefore, I leave you with a few portraits so you can at least see the details:

Here comes the bride

One of the things I love about blogging is the fact that after I post something me and my friends create a whole chat offline about it. Therefore, after my recent post about bridesmaid dresses, we started talking about how much should this kind of dress cost, as you're paying for it. We came to the conclusion it's worth to opt for cheap bridesmaids dresses, especially since there's a big selection on the Internet. One thing led to another and we ended up talking about how much should the bride spend on her dress.

Being a fan of "Say yes to the dress" show back when I was younger, I noticed how brides who had a 2000$ budget could barely find their dream dress, so I got the idea that you should have some money put aside for your big day. One of my best friends think you should have even the double, because it's an unique day and you want to cherish its memory forever. Others think you can use the money in a better way and spend it on your honeymoon, so both you and your soulmate can benefit (or buy some Louboutin shoes you can wear also after the wedding, the options are endless).

In the end, we all agreed there should be a cutback on the wedding dress budget, but how big? I started searching out of curiosity online and I found some incredibly cheap wedding dresses  at DressDressy that I included in the sets in this post: I just can't believe they're under 300$ (hello, you can't even buy a designer bag at this price!). Where have I been living in this past few years, thinking that you should have at least 3K put aside for your dream wedding dress? That's the great thing about internet, you never know what marvel you may come across!

How do you feel about wedding dresses: would you recycle your mom's dress, buy one on sale or go completely over the top and choose an expensive designer one?

Bridemaids Dress

♪ Gotye- Heart's a mess ♪

I've blogged about weddings and the perfect dress to wear on your special day many times before. But what I've forgot to question is bridesmaid duty! It crossed my mind recently, since I'm finishing highschool and all of my best friends will attend university in different cities. Will we be able to keep in touch? Will we still feel the same connection, that strong that when the time comes we would ask each other to be a bridesmaid? Obviously, this issue has been illustrated with humour in a douzen of famous comedies, like Bridesmaids, Bachelorette or my favourite, 27 dresses (this made me particularly emotional).

I get all nervous only when I think about how me and my friends are going to look in 10 years, let alone the idea of one of us getting married. Still, there is still one bright aspect about it: the outfit. Most bridesmaids dread it, then there is also the issue of color: should the maid of honour pull a Pippa Middleton and wear white at the ceremony? What about the lenght? While searching online, I have found an amazing selection of  2014 bridesmaid dresses at MillyBridalShop. They have all sorts of designs, which come in all sorts of colours. My favourites are the one shown in the first set, which I would describe 'urban ballerina' style and the one with a single shoulder strap- so chic and elegant!

Now- how to accessorize a bridesmaids outfit?

Light Accents- You can see it in the first set: light tones, nude shoes, a pink nail polish perhaps. It will complement your look while keeping it low profile.
Bold Colors- Whether we're talking about statement shoes of colorful clutches, it's nice to wear a chic accent that will make your look light and fun! See my take on this alternative in the second set.

Good Vibes Only

Okay, so I have been on a social hiatus for the last couple of months! I made this decision based on the fact that I have the most important exam of my life in July, so I now it's the time for me to study more than ever. I have missed blogging dearly and free time in general: I only allowed myself to watch my favourite TV shows (gotta keep my sanity in order somehow) and indulged in some occasional reading.

It's the first fashion season that I did not show interest to the trend report...until last night. I came home late after a very sweet evening out with my friends ( we had three major exams this week so we allowed ourselves a celebration) and I was sleepless. I saw an email in my inbox from the Net-a-Porter newsletter and I thought I should check the new collections they have online. I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE! With everything: I was craving baby blue high heels (both Gianvito Rossi and Fendi offer a great selection),  a Balmain light denim skirt (it was a huge surprise for me, as Balmain is knows for darker tones) and pretty much everything else, when it hit me: "I have to share my discoveries with someone, this fashion season is insanely genius!" . And who else is a better choice than you, dear reader?

So, here we go, the highlights of the season I have noticed in a brief visit on Net-a-porter:

London calling

Happy (belated) New Year everyone! I hope you're having a fresh start, I've been a weird mood lately, I kinda lack energy and I just feel it's something I can't quite control. What do I do when I feel like this? I blog about trends!

I told you in a previous post this New Year my friends and I chose comfort (jeans), but I still felt like I had to wear something festive. Therefore, I opted for a sequined sweater, which matched (unexpectedly) with my studded statement necklace and clutch. Studs and sequins- who knew? The footwear I chose brings me to the main topic for today: winter boots for teenagers.

There are two type of purchases teens make for the fall:
1. impossible high heels, which are excruciating to walk in during winter time (unless you live in LA- then you kinda don't need boots at all), but we still buy them because we want to look fabulous during winter as well and we think 'I can totally pull this off, I'm young so heels won't be a problem for me'. I've been down this road for two winters, I resigned and bought some UGGs to comfort my feet.

As your looking at my 3 inch wedges from Zara I bet you're thinking "She's done it again!". Believe me, I'm surprised to say it's not the case! Zara has been my favourite store for 5 years, but lately it disappointed me with all the masculine cuts and absolutely no emphasis on the waist, but on the hips. Okay, I get that's cool to look like you're from a Celine ad, but there are still some girls with curves out here (me!) who would like to buy some feminine clothes, and the section was almost inexistent in the last two seasons. Therefore, I banned myself (more precisely: my wallet) from my dream store. Until the 30th of December when I was in desperate need of some cool boots and it was the last store I hadn't checked.  I saw this perfect pair, I fell in love but then I thought: "Uh, they won't fit me, Zara shoes are always hard to wear for me!". But they felt like they were made for my feet and I couldn't tell they had a 7 cm heel. I checked the label to see if they're made from genuine leather and then it hit me: the price! I had to call my mom to lend me some money, because I just knew they were the right pair for me!

I guess that in the end you can actually find some impossibly high boots to walk in and feel great in them, but please make sure they're worth the money, or at least try to use a  6pm Coupon Code 2014 if you can order them online.

2. comfy, cool boots: They keep your feet happy and warm, and you can face a blizzard wearing them. The problem is it's hard to find this type of boots in a fashionable form. Brands like Sorel specialize on this type of footwear so I believe this Sorel Coupon Code 2014 can come in handy if you're still looking for the perfect winter boots.

Details of my look:  I'm even matching with my Iphone 5S, I must have a thing for gold and nude tones! Everything is ZARA (I know I said I haven't shopped there much in the last two seasons, but still , 80% of my closet is Zara)

Paris

This weekend has been a delight- sure, I had tons of projects and school work to do but I also got to sleep 8 hours a night and catch up with the latest news in the fashion world. I love to see new collections every season, and so far I'm truly in love with the Swarovski Fall 2013 Collection. It's not only their classy designs which got my attention, but also the fact that this collection includes a collaboration with Shourouk. I don't know how many of you are familiar with this brand, but I've been following its journey for quite a while and I can state they make my favourite statement necklaces. I don't know how I've missed this incredible collaboration, the prices of the Swarovski &Shourouk pieces are like 25 % of what a Shourouk necklace usually costs. Still, it is too expensive for me so I was lucky to found this Swarovski Coupon Code 2013. I'm still deciding whether I should take the plunge and buy one of the pieces, what's really holding me back is the fact that I'm saving up for a trip to Paris.

Speaking of Paris, when I decided I wanted to do a set and Polyvore in order to show you the Swarovski jewellery I found myself wondering- should this be a feminine outfit with a dash of Parisian chic or a casual attire, a la New York? Why not do both? My point is that this collaboration has resulted in some pieces of an imense versatility,  I can definitely see how these statement earrings and cuff work with boyfriend jeans and some funky shoes as well.

Would you go all Paris or New York?

PS: Isn't that Chanel nude bag the most incredible bag you've seen in a while? God, I hope they'll still make it in 10 years when (maybe) I'll afford it.

Burgundy Bag

Happy Monday! I loved that the first fall/winter report got so many hits and positive feedback so I thought I should share my thoughts about another trend today. For all the fashion enthusiasts it is common knowledge that last fall was all about burgundy. Therefore, we are stunned to see burgundy making a comeback after merely one year! Was it the fact that most of us bought bordeaux pieces last October like crazy people? Or was it brought back in order to highlight the color of this season: powder pink? Either way, I'm buying burgundy this fall, big time!

Now, what should you invest in? I thought a lot about it, and I would advise you to go for bags. It's not only the fact that this shade makes any bag look like a statement item, it's also because you can wear it regardless of the season, weather and trends. I just love this Samsonite bag, you can find it online for a great price using this Koffer24 Coupon Code.  A bordeaux Marc Jacobs watch would be a great investment as well.

On my wishlist you can find another wine-colored bag I adore, from Kipling (see collage below). Which one do you like more? I'm tempted to choose it because of the incredible discount I can get using a Kipling Coupon Code. Either way, they are both perfect for a busy teenager like me, I can see myself taking them to school, gym, shopping sessions, on road trips. And I think we can all agree they would both go perfectly with these gorgeous Nike Sky Dunk Hi , I've  been dreaming of getting a pair for a couple months, I'm just not sure I should take the plunge.

Will you buy brand new burgundy items this fall, or you'll just recycle from the last winter season?

I thought it would be great to share my observations and style tips with you on, let's say, 3 trends every once in a while. It's going to be one of those posts- where I actually stay focused on the main subject: the clothes I am wearing. I always plan to do this, but most of the time, my 'fashion blog' becomes more about blogging than fashion.  Oops, here I am, doing it again!

Emerald- I have mentioned this shade a couple times around here, I even wrote a whole post about it on TeenyStyle and I'm sure you know it is the color of year, according to Pantone. I don't usually wear green, but there's something about the lightness of this color that really got me! The idea of an emerald green statement necklace, a funky pair of flats or a party dress really appealed to me. I was lucky to find one thing on my wishlist: THE FLATS, in an unusual circustance. I was out of town and only brought one pair of nude Zara flats which killed my feet, so I decided I should buy a pair of shoes with the budget that I had for a skirt. I walked into the first shop, saw them in pink first and they were the most comfortable, which such a smooth leather! I wasn't sure about the color, but then I saw the emerald version and I didn't hesitate: match made in heaven!

Now, you must have noticed why I am wearing such a simple and casual ensemble: I wanted my new statement necklace to shine! I've always wanted something in this style, so I can wear it to both feminine and edgy outfits, and Chicnova is the best when it comes to making my dreams come true! Also, notice the matching bracelet I also got from their site, I loved its inscription:  "Never say never, cause never is forever".

Such a magical thing, how your shoes and accessories can change a simple outfit completely!

Yes, that's right, I have tons of ideas to improve the blog (started to keep an actual diary about them ) and photos taken for the blog (remember how I barely found any locations before? Not the case, this spring!).

I figured that since you can't actually see me and my style these days, I should at least show you how different are the things I fancy right now (surprisingly, not pastels, I'm almost over that phase, people!):
Flamingo Earrings - Fun fact about me, I don't like to change my earrings but this funky pair by Swarovski attracts me in such an impressive way! The unique rhinestones and the vivid colors would be so cool for this summer. And what's the first thing I did when I saw this perfect pair? I looked for a Swarovski Coupon and imagined a fun way to wear them , of course. Now that I think more about it, I actually understand how Swarovski is such a successful brand: it even got me thinking about changing my beloved gold earrings!

Yellow Bag-  it's everywhere in my Polyvore sets, from various brands, in various shapes, maybe the 'beehive' trend got to me in a twisted way? Then there's the Miss Dior Cherie Fragrance , I have to buy it someday. Oh, and a Topshop nail polish, I just love all their colors and the shape of the bottle. And let's not forget the floral printed top, I would be able to match it with all my skirts.

Wrong Mary, you were so wrong...I noticed I was between sizes when it finally got warm and and I was excited to go back to my beloved 7 pairs of Zara flats. Surprise!! I was in excruciating pain as I was trying each and every one of them.

Okay, maybe I can squeeze my toes when I have a party to attend and heels are required ( Cinderella's stepsisters style! ). But on a daily basis? No way. So, I hardly brought myself to spend my spring shopping budget (which took so long to acquire) on two leather pairs of flats, which should be enough for now. You must be thinking I couldn't buy anything 'trendy' as a result but I had the fortune to find one of the pairs in an emerald shade. Color of the year declared by Pantone, I love it so much and I can't wait to show them in a future post!

Okay, I have to admit, this thing with posting mini guides for different occasions has really gotten me. I was talking to a friend the other day about how the wedding season is so close and I don't really have any idea what I would wear to such an event. Then I realized it depends on the theme of the wedding, which makes it perfect for a mini guide!

Still, there are some essentials you need to have in your clutch in all the cases: compact mirrors are great for touch up and they somehow strike me as a type of jewellery. My favourite one was brought by my aunt from Turkey and whenever I have it with me, people admire it. It's so cool to own such an useful and cute accessory. For this collage I chose one from American Bridal, I just love its shape!
Beauty products : Don't bring all of your makeup, just make sure you look amazing the entire night! For the looks I went for Topshop products because they have such a pretty packaging and  I liked the visual impact, can you share your thoughts on their quality?

Hitting the road has become pretty common for me lately. I'm spending some quality time with my family in a quite place at the moment after I just got from a 4-day trip/camp with my classmates. On the last night, we talked about some of our favourite places to visit and that was the first time I actually felt like I want to visit USA one day badly. Not just the iconic New York and Los Angeles, but also the glamorous and eccentric Las Vegas.

Now that the blog is about to turn 2, I think I should tell you a little story about me(if you are a regular reader, then you might have put the pieces together). Ever since I was little, I had two paths I wanted to follow in my life: writing, as an author (and later it become my desire to be a fashion journalist) and medicine. When I opened this blog, it was more about writing, I just felt like I needed to practice and see if I have any ability to foresee fashion trends.  Still, as soon as my blog started to grow, I found myself in love with photography, and I could clearly see that my readers responded better to posts of my outfits than my general fashion articles (this was, after all, my personal blog, so I guess this made sense).

Of course I love to expose my fahion knowledge around here as well, but I couldn't see how I can make out of my writing a viable career, so I chose to start studying for medicine. I couldn't have made a better decision, although it will be harder for me, I want to become a doctor and still keep fashion and writing as my dearest hobbies.

A couple of weeks ago, one of my biggest dreams came true: the owners of a new fashion site for teenagers, TeenyStyle saw potential in my writing and asked me if I would like to write trend reports and fashion advice for teens. I wouldn't have guessed from the beggining how this can bring me such an imense satisfaction, ever since I started I am just paying more attention to the people on the street and editorials to spot some new subjects to write about. I cannot believe that this way I can keep studying for medicine and yet have a stronger connection to fashion than I did before!

I believe every girl should find an easy-peasy and yet outstanding way to do her hair when she's on the run. Mine takes 5 minutes and it's super comfortable to wear(and yes, it is my actual hair!)! Let me know what you think, as I got some requests on doing vlogs about hair and beauty.

♪ Adele -Skyfall♪

Stressed but well dressed - this is how I would describe myself lately, I mean I least I try with the 'well dressed' part haha but I feel like there's not enough time, or maybe I have no idea how to manage mine! Therefore, a trick is in order for girls like me, who are always in a rush and still want to look fabulous:

Invest in a key piece for fall, incredible, unique yet still easy to wear on a regular basis!

I found mine at Zara, two weeks ago, and I couldn't be more happy! I'm talking about this white loose sweater, with the most amazing fabric, cut and easy to match with all my jewellery! I almost wear it too much, but you'll see after you click for 'MORE' why, it has a fancy detail in the back. Also, I'm sure you noticed the background- the same old background which I call the 'emergency' one as I have too many pictures taken here plus it's not cute as well...Oh well, forgive me, I had to show you this sweater somehow!

As for the song I chose it's because I went with my cousin and some friends and saw Skyfall, the new James Bong movie. I'm sure you've heard of it, it is an action movie with a huge budget and amazing actors after all but the thing that impressed me most was the subject! Overall, I got the following idea:

You shouldn't give up on yourself, on your hopes and dreams and that there's always a place for a new beginning or, as Adele would sing it 'Skyfall is where we start'.

♫ How do you like me now- The Heavy ♫

CLASH OF PRINTS & BEST FRIENDS GOING WILD. Two weeks ago I went with my best friend S. to pick up my Cambridge CAE certificate and attend the Ab Fab Fair! It was a memorable day, full of laughther, shopping and delicious food (I can't resist Starbucks and McDonalds , sorry). I was really impressed with the Fair, it was the first time I attended and both me and S. found some really beautiful and unique things. The dress code really got me, I love clashing prints so I went for a florals&python mix.

If you are a faithful reader you must have noticed my obsession with pastels. Well, with this AMAZING cardigan with sparkles all over it I am starting : pastels-the fall edition haha. Seriously, its color is pink champagne and with all the glitter I couldn't help myself! Of course I will be wearing darker tones (hint: don't miss the next post) but my style is so feminine and classy that this seemed the right outfit for the occasion.

Ah, I can't believe the weekend has gone by so quickly, school is rough right now!
My advice for you  is :make time for your friends ,dress fabulously and have tons of fun! Have an amazing week, my dear readers x
